Contact in the Centre
There is a wide variety of toys, games, books and games, including
pool and a football table. There is also an outdoor area with a slide,
a large climbing frame (so that adults can go on there too!), football
net and basket ball hoop.
There is no close observation, monitoring or evaluation of
individual contact or conversations. Our aim is to maintain a
friendly, impartial and confidential environment.
Usually there are several families together in one or a number of
rooms where families are encouraged to develop mutual trust and consider more satisfactory family venues.
Apart from attendance dates and times, no reports will be made to
the referrer, CAFCASS officer, a party's solicitor or court, unless a
risk of harm becomes apparent to the child, parent or centre worker.
HandoverThis service enables the child and non resident
parent to have contact outside of the centre and is available at any
time during the above times. When the child is handed over it is still
possible for parents not to meet, as a volunteer will take the child
between parents in the same way as with inside contact.
- Completed referral forms with a written agreement signed by both parties must be returned to the coordinator.
- If internal contact progresses to external contact a written agreement as above must be given to the coordinator.
Facilities
- A large hall with toys and games.
- A separate room for resident parents to sit in.
- Snack bar with light refreshments at reasonable prices.
- A safe outdoor play area.
